CLARITY [klar-i-tee] noun
1. Clearness as to perception or understanding
2. Freedom from indistinctness or ambiguity.
3. The state or quality of being transparent to the eye or [heart]
The way forward is not always clear and when we are caught between being aware of a shift taking place in our lives and oblivion of what that shift would look like or mean, we often lose perspective and end up feeling confused, discouraged and stuck.
Be encouraged that even though God may choose not to unroll a concrete roadmap to us – concerning a specific job, investment, spouse, school, friend, challenge or calling, our steps are ordered. Psalm 37: 23 says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.” We are not wanderers for the Lord gives us enough glimmers of clarity to assure us that He is guiding us. We are not purposeless. God gives us glimmers of perspective so that we can walk lockstep with Him, totally dependent on His leading and strength. We are guided.
We are perfectly positioned in the place that God desires us to be in this moment. It may not be a place of preference but it is a place of transformation. There is a slow but eternal transformation that is taking place; and many times, we miss the potential of our current places because we are future-focused. We become more focused on the blessing than becoming whom God envisions us to be. Let us open our hearts to the providences and potential of this period. God is perfecting our character. He is strengthening our faith muscle. He is giving us insight. There is fruit and favor in this fog of the unknown.
Let us also focus on the Light of God for His word is a lamp unto our feet, and a light unto our paths. (Psalm 119: 105) God’s Light exposes the dark myths of our present circumstances, reveals His divine knowledge and consumes the gloom and discouragement of our hearts. We do not have to fight the darkness or gloom alone, we can saturate ourselves in His Word and in His Being through prayer. God’s Light/His Word are the only elements that we can truly trust. God may not give light for the next 50 steps but He gives enough light for the next immediate step.
This week, we may not find immediate clarity about a particular circumstance or desire, but we can have clarity on one matter: The Lord himself goes before us and will be with us; He will never leave us nor forsake us. Our steps are ordered. His light which is a lamp/torch/lantern/flashlight is the ONLY light that can GUIDE/COMFORT our anxious or worried hearts.
Scripture of the Week:
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31: 8
