“And the Lord will continually guide you, and satisfy your desire in scorched places, and give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.” Isaiah 58:11
Let me tell you a secret: You are exactly where God desires you to be.
I know you feel that God has “more” for you and the place you are currently in is not where you should be. You can’t clearly see what God is doing and you don’t know why He is doing what He is doing because everything seems to work against you.
That’s understandable; but if you closely examine your current experiences through faith-filled eyes, you will discover traces of God’s hand creating something beautiful with the pieces of your current circumstances. He is teaching you of His faithfulness, in this present moment. He is sustaining you, in this present moment. He is preparing you for higher emotional, spiritual or professional levels, in this present moment. If you pause for a moment, you will realize that God has strategically placed you in your current relationship, job, social circle or crucible to give you a new spiritual experience that will strengthen your inner being and deepen your relationship with Him.
At the core of our discontented spirits is our mistrust of God. We doubt God’s intention and plan for our lives. I encourage you to replace that doubt and mistrust with radical faith that sings in the midst of trials, confidently moves forward in the face of opposition and embraces peace amid all of chaos.
Let us fully exist in this present moment, appreciate what is before us and give of our best where we are. Let us like Paul, choose to be content in all situations. Let us nurture our souls where God has planted us and allow our fruits to testify that we are filled with a God who is bigger than our expectations, titles, positions or emotions. Let us choose to bloom where we are planted….and while we are thankfully blooming in this present moment and environment, let us keep Jeremiah 29:11 in mind, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Lord help give us a contented spirit. Help us to grow where you have planted us. Give us courage to embrace the grace that saturates this present moment. Renew our hopes. Open our eyes to your blessings and help us to appreciate our present circumstances.
